Within the immediate area there are many activities to try and numerous country house and seaside towns to visit, together with Dartmoor to the west and Exmoor to the north, where there are also the surfing beaches of Saunton, Croyde, and Woolacombe There are links below which you can follow.
Experiences
The Bear Trail is an adventure park just down the road about a mile. This assault course will prove a challenge for some kids and all parents!! and a muddy good time for all!

.The Eateries
As the cottages have fully fitted kitchens, you can obviously turn your hand to your own culinary delights where you can enjoy eating al fresco in the quiet Devon countryside. Both cottages have outside eating areas, but when the weather is unhelpful there is plenty of room inside.
Should you want to eat out, as usual in Devon there are many pubs and eateries, here are just a few in the local vicinity. In order of closeness to us, are:

There are numerous pubs in Cullompton itself, three miles away. Other places worth mentioning to eat are The Bakehouse in Cullompton, Otter Nurseries (near Ottery St Mary), and Joshua's (opposite Otter Nurseries).
No doubt you will find others, which will become your favourites.
Donkey Sanctuary
The Donkey Sanctuary gives lifelong care to over 6000 donkeys and mules around the UK and Europe. Based in Sidmouth, Devon it is open year round. There is also an excellent restaurant, which when we last visited served the biggest sandwiches you'll ever see (plus many other delicious morsels).
